SCMFL was built on this scripture — a reminder that every woman is placed on purpose, and every mother is worthy of being seen, supported, and celebrated.
Our Founder
Mel Phanord — Founder & Executive Director
Mel Phanord is a mother of four daughters and lifelong Central Florida resident. She founded SCMFL after recognizing the lack of support for struggling mothers in her community — mothers stretched between diapers and rent, postpartum recovery and returning to work, faith and fear.
Rooted in Esther 4:14, her leadership is defined by purpose, faith, and action. Under her direction, SCMFL has grown into a trusted local network delivering emergency assistance, education, and hope to hundreds of families every year.
